Getting an error message that reads “QuickBooks connection has been lost” indicates that your QuickBooks Desktop, for some reason, can’t connect to the company file on the server. Follow the solutions below and quickly rectify the issue as I did a few weeks back.
First, ensure that you have QuickBooks Database Server Manager installed if your company file is saved on the server.
Now run QuickBooks Database Server Manager and restart QuickBooks Desktop.
Go to the QuickBooks installation directory and check if the company file is in the original company file folder. If not, locate and copy the company file on your system and place it in the original company file folder in the QuickBooks installation directory.
You also have to ensure that your server computer is not set to go into sleep mode or power-saving mode.
Once all the above is done, try to open the company file again and check if the error is resolved.
